Randox Laboratories creates 23 new jobs

Privately-owned Randox Laboratories said the new jobs would be spread across manufacturing, export sales, research and development, finance, engineering and the company’s graduate programme.

Last year the company created nearly 90 jobs at its headquarters in Crumlin, bringing its total global workforce to more than 800 people.

Dr Peter Fitzgerald, Randox managing director and founder, said: “At a time when record job losses are making headlines, I’m delighted to buck the trend and be in the fortunate position to create employment.

“Randox is very export-driven. In fact just over 95% of what we make is sold outside the UK and Ireland. In order to keep up with the high demand for our products and our continued growth, I need highly skilled individuals, and I take pride in the fact that local people are filling these vacancies.”

Dr Fitzgerald added that he has further plans for expansion at home and abroad over the coming months.

“I am continually on the look out for people with the ambition and commitment to join what is one of the most innovative diagnostics companies in the world,” he said.

Randox, which was founded in 1982, produces diagnostic kits for use in hospital, clinical and veterinary laboratories to diagnose for metabolic disorders, diseases and environmental pollutants.

Its primary focus is in health, helping in the diagnosis of cardiovascular problems, cancers, diabetes, thyroid problems, liver disease and renal disease
