Conference 3rd International Conference for Intellectual Property, Trademarks and Patent for Ireland

Location 18th & 19th February 2010, Radisson Hotel, Dublin 8, Ireland

ThemeThe IP Ireland 2010 Conference has been designed to draw on key industry leaders that can share their vision and practical strategies for the development and commercialization of the IP heading into the 21st centaury knowledge based economies. The role that intellectual property now holds with in companies is seen at the heart of many debates, including those over technology transfer, copyrights & trademarks in a digital age, public domain, access and benefit sharing in relation to resources, and the availability of intellectual property protected information.

Our conference theme: “Research, Innovation & Investment” is designed to reflect the dramatic changes in business practices that companies in Ireland and globally have been experiencing these past 12 months and the importance the IP now holds for the future of Irish companies.  These changes are pushing companies to develop new international markets and many have now adopting a “war” footing in respect to developing new products for sale into the global high tech or “smarter” economies. This paradigm change means that companies need to have better and faster research methods combined with the necessary investment to develop timely and innovative products to allow them to achieve success and ultimately having the best IP protection will allow them the necessary freedom and reassurance to operate in these new international markets.   In line with previous IEP conferences, abstracts have been invited on all aspects of Intellectual Property, Copyright and Patent Protection, but invite especially proposals for individual papers or themed panels that aim to explore individual company’s protection linked to “Research, Innovation & Investment” such as: - Identifying IP Assets- IP Valuation- IP Risk Management - Research IP Strategies - Investment for IP- Licensing “Realizing the Potential”- Managing an IP Portfolio- IP Commercialization Strategies  - Patentability assessment - Copyright for the Digital Age- Industry/University Research & Collaboration- Technology Transfer Partnerships The deadline for submitting proposals to IP 2010 is 30th December 2009.

Layout Conference papers will be organized into individual sessions of 30 minutes (25 minutes plus 5 minutes for questions) and panel sessions of 90 minutes.
